SSPaste is a clipboard manager for the Mac. It works on your Mac: there is no account, no sync, and no server of ours behind it. This page says exactly what that means.
What SSPaste keeps, and where
What you copy — text, images, files and their original formats — is saved in SSPaste’s own folder on your Mac. It is not sent to us or to anyone else, and we cannot see it.
History is kept until you remove it. In Settings › History you can keep it for a day, a week, a month, a year or forever, clear it, or export it to a folder.
Ordinary history is not encrypted by the app; it is protected the way your other files are. The Private Space is encrypted, as its security note describes.
What SSPaste leaves out
Content that other apps mark as confidential (password managers do this) or as transient is not recorded. Both rules are on by default.
You can list apps whose copies are never recorded, and you can pause recording from the menu bar at any time.
When SSPaste goes online
Link previews. If you turn this on — it is off by default — SSPaste asks the linked website for its title and preview image through the system’s link preview service. That website sees the request much as it would see a visit from a browser.
Purchases. Buying or restoring Pro goes through Apple’s App Store. Apple handles the payment; we do not receive your name, email address or payment details.
Nothing else. The app has no analytics, no advertising and no crash reporting of its own. If you have chosen in macOS to share analytics with app developers, Apple may pass on crash reports as its own privacy policy describes.
Recognising text
Reading the text in images and documents, so that you can search for it, happens on your Mac with the system’s own recognition. Nothing is uploaded.
Permissions
Accessibility is needed only to paste straight into the app you are using: SSPaste presses ⌘V for you. Without it, items are still copied and you paste them yourself.
Touch ID or your login password unlocks the Private Space. macOS does the checking; SSPaste never sees your fingerprint or your password.
Files you copied or chose stay reachable to SSPaste so that it can show them and paste them again.
This website
The site sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, and runs no analytics or third-party scripts.
As with any website, the company that hosts it receives the technical details a browser sends when it asks for a page, such as your IP address.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with its date. SSPaste is published by seny. Questions: support@sspaste.app.
